After careful evaluation of our student support services, the district has decided to transition away from our partnership with Communities in Schools. This decision was not made lightly, nor is it a reflection on the dedication of the individuals who have served our students through the program.
Our responsibility is to ensure that every dollar entrusted to the district delivers the greatest possible impact for students. Over the past several years, we have expanded the capacity of our own staff to provide many of the same services previously offered through Communities in Schools. By investing directly in district employees, our district is able to provide the Bulldawg community with greater accountability, stronger alignment with our strategic goals, and more consistent oversight of student services.
Bringing these services in-house also allows us to improve our ability to measure outcomes, respond more quickly to student needs, and ensure that resources are allocated where they have the greatest measurable impact on student success. We believe strongly that this approach provides a stronger return on investment for our taxpayers, while maintaining our commitment to support the whole child and foster a safe and welcoming environment for every Bulldawg.
We remain deeply committed to serving students and families through high-quality academic, social, emotional, and community support services. As we work to balance the budget for next year, our focus is not on reducing services to students, but rather on providing the services our community has come to expect from our district in a way that is more accountable, sustainable, and closely aligned with the priorities of Copperas Cove ISD.
