Crossroads High School was established during the 1995-1996 school year under Superintendent of Schools, Dick Parker. With the increasing dropout rates in America, public school systems had to find alternatives to the traditional learning environment offered to most children in the classroom. Many dropouts indicated they would have completed high school had it been offered in a different way. Academic alternative schools or schools of choice offer students non-traditional learning opportunities geared towards individual students needs. Crossroads High School serves this purpose for Copperas Cove ISD. Student's complete academic course work through a variety of venues, such as self-paced learning, computer based education programs, and project based learning.
