Currently, the cafeteria at Copperas Cove Junior High School does not have restrooms, requiring students to leave the area to access restrooms in other parts of the school. Students at Mae Stevens will now see this rock wall in the gym. Coach Patricia Crawford & principal Leah Miller received a grant from the Copperas Cove Education Foundation for the wall and students are enjoying the workout they get!

So, what is the impact of Bond 2024? If the bond is successful, the district would be eligible to apply for Instructional Facilities Allotment (IFA) funding. If approved, IFA funds could provide up to 30% state assistance and result in a lower cost to taxpayers.
Fairview/Jewell Elementary recently held its Science Night for families to come participate in a fun night of experiments, with everything from paper airplanes to Alka-Seltzer rocket ships.

The CCHS AVID program recently took its juniors & seniors to Austin to visit Huston-Tillotson University and learn about the school.
Students who earned "A" Honor Roll in the first semester at Cove Jr. High were recently rewarded with a field trip to Spare Time for their efforts.

7th-grade science at CCJHS spent a week learning about energy transformations by engineering comeback cans along with observing how the energy stored in a 9-volt battery transforms when it comes into contact with steel wool.

A few members of House Creek's ES2S team were recently able to participate in the Military Child Education Coalition's student training on leadership. Students learned about the importance of active listening, positive communication and service in their community.
Currently, the high school is approximately 29% over capacity and enrollment is growing every year. The bond would allow for major expansions including new classrooms and science labs, to not only meet current capacity needs, but also provide additional space for future growth.

CCISD is holding an information session on Teen Dating Violence at the CCHS Library on March 26th, after school, in the CCHS library.
Did you know public schools in Texas operate on two separate budgets?
1) Maintenance & Operations (M&O), used for daily operations such as utilities and teacher salaries
2) Interest & Sinking (I&S), which pays for capital debt, new construction, and renovations
In order to fund the I&S budget, schools rely on the support of local tax payers to finance the design, construction, expansion and renovation of facilities.
Clements/Parsons student Maddox Tobias got to showcase his math skills to help fellow students reinforce double-digit subtraction in Mrs. Sheila Grantham's 2nd-grade class. This gives students the chance to develop skills explaining their answers in a variety of ways.
Mae Stevens student Wyatt Webb has successfully read 300 books and earned an "I Love to Read T-shirt" from principal Leah Miller and a book of his choice. Wyatt is in Ms. Aponte's and Mrs. LeRue's classroom.

Currently at CCHS, approximately 30 teachers don't have a
dedicated classroom. The bond proposal would allow for
expansions to the high school, ensuring all teachers have their
own classroom and dedicated workspace to prepare lesson
plans, grade papers, communicate with parents and see
students before or after school.
